Aqualyx is designed to reduce stubborn pockets of fat. It is not a weight-loss product; rather, it serves as a treatment for residual fat after weight loss or for small areas of fat that have always been present. This product can be used on various parts of the body as a body contouring and skin-tightening treatment. Aqualyx is a safe and effective fat-dissolving treatment that offers long-lasting results.
**What Areas Can Be Treated with Aqualyx?**
Aqualyx can target any area of stubborn fat that does not respond to general weight-loss efforts. Examples of treatable areas include the double chin, backs of the arms, abdomen, flanks, upper back (bra strap area), love handles, inner thighs, outer thighs, buttocks, and knees. To be eligible for treatment, the area must have at least 1.5 cm of pinchable fat, and the individual’s Body Mass Index (BMI) should be 27 or lower. If the BMI is above 27, a general weight-loss treatment may be more effective.
**What Does the Fat Dissolving Treatment Cost?**
The cost of Aqualyx treatment starts from £150 per area. Treatable areas include the double chin, backs of the arms, upper back, lower back, abdomen, inner thighs, outer thighs, and knees.
The cost for the abdomen starts from £300.
**What Is Involved in This Treatment?**
Some patients see results after just one treatment. Generally, smaller areas yield quicker and more significant results. For instance, a small area like the double chin may require less treatment than a larger area, such as the abdomen. Aqualyx is supplied in 8 ml vials, and the prices mentioned are based on using the maximum recommended doses (4 x 8 ml vials for one area in a single session). Treatments can be repeated every 4 to 6 weeks, for a total of up to 8 times.
**Will It Hurt?**
An anaesthetic cream can be applied to your skin beforehand, but we also add Lidocaine Local Anaesthetic to Aqualyx, so most clients report that the injection process is not painful. About 30 minutes after the treatment, the area may appear and feel slightly sunburnt; this sensation typically subsides within 8 hours. At this point, the product has dissolved all the fat it has come into contact with and is now inactive. Your body will then work to “clear up” the broken-down fat cells and the resulting fluid from the inflammation, which accounts for the downtime.
**What Is the Downtime?**
The fluid takes 1 to 4 weeks to dissipate. You can speed up the process by wearing tight clothing (such as shapewear) or by performing lymphatic drainage massage for a few minutes, 3 to 4 times per day. After 4 weeks, you can assess whether you wish to continue with treatment to dissolve additional fat in the area.
**Can You Use Aqualyx Everywhere?**
While Aqualyx can be used on almost any part of the body, it is not a weight-loss treatment. Its primary purpose is to target stubborn areas of fat. If you believe you have more than two or three stubborn areas, it may be more effective to consider a comprehensive approach to fat reduction, such as exercise and diet. Consulting with experts, such as a personal trainer or nutritionist, may be beneficial if previous attempts at these methods have not been successful.
